With over 25 years of experience as a professional chef and a thriving home garden of my own, I know how important well-maintained tools are in the kitchen and in the yard. That’s why I started Tio’s Mobile Knife Sharpening: to bring expert sharpening to your doorstep—or to your local neighborhood pop-up.

We sharpen equipment like meat slicers, grill scrapers, Robot Coupe blades, and mandolines.

$110 for up to 10 items
Additional fee for tools that need restoration (e.g. rust, chips)

Most items take around 2 minutes each. Tools that need restoration will take longer.
For larger jobs with restaurants and commercial kitchens, it can range from 1 to 4 hours.
For residential sharpening, about 20 to 30 minutes.
Pop-ups are first come first serve, wait time ranges from 5 to 40 minutes.

For home cooks, we recommend sharpening your knives every 3 to 6 months, depending how often you cook and what you’re cutting.
If you’re a professional chef, you may need sharpening more frequently (monthly, bi-weekly, or even weekly).
A good rule of thumb: If it feels dull, it probably it is!

We can sharpen most knives, scissors, and garden tools. Tools we DON’T sharpen include: haircutting scissors, ceramic knives, electrical trimmers, wire cutters, swords, and mower blades.
If you’re unsure whether we can sharpen a tool, just give us a call or text! We’re happy to advise or refer you to someone who can.

We can restore most rusty or chipped tools. A restoration fee will apply depending on the damage.

I offer mobile service to most areas within San Diego, but I don't travel to North County, Poway, Escondido, Encinitas, East County/East Lake, or the South-West.
If you live within about 10 miles outside of San Diego, feel free to text or call me to confirm if I can come to you. If you’re further out, you can always bring your knives to one of my closest pop-ups!
